Great location, helpful staff.
Hotel Villa Rivera is very comfortable, and the staff is warm and helpful. I stayed five nights in early February, and loved the central location, nice courtyard and big bathtub. The decor was a bit dated, but the building charming and room very clean. The one downside here is also its best feature - it backs right up to the beautiful Parroquia, located on the central plaza. This central location puts all of the great restaurants, shopping and art galleries in SMA within walking distance, and makes it easy to pop back into your room to grab a sweater. However, the church and clock tower next door ring bells every 15 minutes, and gong the time loudly from 7 am to late in the evening. I found it charming, but this hotel is not a place you can sleep late unless you bring earplugs.

Since the central plaza, El Jardin, is just around the corner, grab a fantastic pastry from Cumpanio at Correo 29, then find a shady spot on a park bench to plan your activities for the day.

This hotel is very well located
This hotel is very well located and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms on the street can be noisy but the ones off the street were quiet and very comfortable. Would have no hesitation stayiong at this hotel again.
