Thistle Cardiff City Centre, The Parc

Good location - pleasant staff - little disappointed with the window cleaner arriving at 7 and waking me ! Otherwise good all round hotel.

This is the second time I have stayed at The Park Thistle Hotel in Cardiff. Both times have been nice. I would recommend it if for no other reason than the location. I was in town to attend conferences both times at Cardiff University and the hotel is in an excellent location to walk to the different campus buildings. It is also just off of Queen Street with large numbers of shops, restaurants and pubs. The staff are nice and helpful. I remember that my first time staying had some noise issues with people walking past my room and squeaky floorboards, but that is not surprising in an older building. My last stay was in one of the two ‘attic’ rooms and it was very quiet with just one neighbour and no one walking around outside my door. The room was smaller, but I actually really liked it. I would recommend this hotel.

Booked a double room but on arrival single room allocated. We had to wait to check if a double was available. Hotel took £50 credit to use in bar however, when we ordered drinks at the bar were told this could not be used and long discussion until they gave me my credit but with no apology!!

We were very pleased with the half price offer. The location, on Queens St, with its own P&D carpark, meant we walked out of the hotel and straight into St. David's shopping centre. At night there were lots of nearby restaurants and the bar/clubs were just far enough away not to be heard. The only downside was the constantly running bathroom extract ventilation which was noticable when going to sleep because the room was so quite.

This is a very beautifull place to stay. Just 5 minutes by foot to Cardiff castle. Windows has a beautifull view. The staff is very friendly. If I visit Cardiff more times I will stay at this hotel.

Booked this hotel due to its central location. We were surprised at how quiet it was as this hotel is located in Cardiff City Centre. Trains to Cardiff Bay are very regular and a night out at the Glee Comedy Club was fantastic. A comfortable nights sleep in the hotel , clean room, would definitely book this hotel again. Pity it didn't have spa facilities.

Das Parc Hotel in Cardiff steht am Rand der Fussgängerzone. Von dort aus kann sowohl das Schloss Cardiff wie auch der Bahnhof problemlos zu Fuss erreicht werden. Das Hotel lässt keine Wünsche offen und vor allem das zuvorkommende und äusserst freundliche Personal möchte ich hier noch erwähnen. Cardiff ist einen kleine aber dennoch lebhafte Stadt, so muss in allen Hotels im Stadtzentrum am Wochenende mit etwas mehr Lärm gerechnet werden. Trotz seiner grösse ist Cardiff super zum Shoppen, das kompakte Zentrum und die kurzen Distanzen machen eine Shoppingtour auch zu Fuss möglich.

I have never been to Cardiff before so was guided solely by info available on hotel. Was offered a joint flight/ hotel package which made it only slightly more expensive than my usual lodge/ motel type stay that I use on business trips. I was amazed by its central position in a good part of the city away from the stag revellers. Lovely, well equipped room, especially a properly powered hairdyer with a nozzle - such a boon after being soaked in the torrential rain that fell constantly during my stay. Within easy walking distance of Bute Park, the Castle etc. Friendly, efficient staff. Good selection at breakfast. Only quibble was the toaster setting needs turned up a notch!! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very Comfortable. Great Location. Very good value for money.

Food good, room service food arrived without, being covered when I opened the door, I could see the Red salmon didnt feel like eating it as it was taken up stairs and through the corridors and was a bit surprised in a 4* hotel for health and safety reasons bernie n Donna
