The Knight Residence

With a family of 5 we often have to rent two rooms on our holidays. This was a clean and comfortable apartment for all with a gated parking lot. We were greeted by Chris, who was so polite, friendly and helpful. They thought of everything really. From a lightly stocked kitchen (at no charge), with dishwasher and washer/dryer (in apartment) to umbrellas at the doors. They are environmentally friendly, beyond the usual not changing sheets and towels, providing excellent toiletries and quailty paper products. It is centrally located and we walked to the castle, Princes St, the Writer's museum, the Grass Market, countless tours, etc. Our children are ages 17, 13 and 4 each had a teddy bear on their pillows and our 4 year old was provided crayons and activity books. We all had a fantastic time. One thing to note is if you are traveling with children under 18, most local pubs/restaurants don't allow them past 8pm.

The room is really a suite with a kitchen, living area, bathroom, and bedroom. The location is great - you can walk to almost everything - sights, shopping, and restaurants.

Staff extremely helpful, close to shops, comfortable stay, needed nothing more

Schon der Empfang in diesem Haus ist herzlich. Die Wohneinheiten sind gut gegliedert und sehr praktisch und großzügig. Für mich sehr wichtig: sehr gute Matratze! Neben dem Hotel liegt ein Nachtclub, dieser stört jedoch nicht, da Türsteher für Ruhe sorgen. In 7 Minuten zu Fuß am Grassmarket, also eh schon zentral!

The hotel was ok, staff were helpful. The room could have been a lot cleaner, the glass lamp shade was coated in dust and the maid didn't Hoover the carpet where I had dropped a packet of crisps. The location was poor although described central. There were THREE strip bars at the end of the street which we had to walk pass every time we left the appartment and every time we did were jaunted at by the men outside. They made rude and sexists remarks to my friend and myself which left us very upset and scared to leave the appartment at night. I am only glad that I didn't take my children to this appartment to be exposed to this. We were not made aware of this on booking and feel we should have been. It felt like we were staying in the red light district! This has been my only holiday this year and i have been saving up for a long time to go and I am very disappointed. We rented a one-bedroom apartment which was small but well laid-out. It had all the amenities that we needed- well equipped kitchen, a washer dryer, televisions in the master bedroom and the living room, nice bathroom with robes provided., dining table and chairs, good location to tourists sites and wonderful concierge staff.

We were greeted by the friendly staff and given a tour of our apartment. Their was nothing they had not thought of. The apartment was comfortable and inviting. The staff had even gone grocery shopping and had stocked our refrigerator with milk, juice, butter. And provided a basket filled with cereals and a loaf of bread as well as coffee, tea and sugar. Kevin and Christopher are fabulous, they are their to help in any way they can. Whether you need a cab or advice on what to see or do during your stay in Edinburgh they are their to help. The Apartment is immaculent and modern. The beds comfy. Our stay here was perfect!

A good place to come home to after a day of sight seeing. The staff was always helpful and polite. You'll never want to stay in a regular hotel again. The location was good and taxis to the train and bus stations were reasonable.
