Corus Hotel Hyde Park

We chose this hotel for the location, the wifi, and the breakfast. The location is great! It is right next to Hyde Park, and very close to the underground. We literally walked everywhere to see the sites--the only time we needed to use the underground was to go to and from the train to the airport. Of course some may find that to be too much walking, but the point is that it's a great central location. The room...well, I think calling it modern is a stretch. It's kind of like a room that was half-renovated. The room itself looks to be at least 100 years old or more, and the carpet is very nasty (luckily house shoes are included). In contrast, the TV and furniture are all very modern. The beds are very, very comfortable, and the linens were nice and clean. There is a decent selection of cable channels, but this is not why one goes to London, right? The bathroom is small and simple but serves it's purpose just fine. I loved the awesome water pressure in the shower that could probably strip paint at full power. We didn't deal with the staff too much, but they didn't seem very friendly or outgoing. The bar next door is a good place for a pint, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Finally, the breakfast...we were very much looking forward to the full English breakfast here; however, I feel slighted by the third party vendor I used to book the room. Apparently part of the reason we got a better deal is that this vendor removed the breakfast from the reservation, but failed to make this clear. Be sure you find out about that if you're interested in the breakfast. All in all, we are pretty satisfied. London is very expensive. Taking that into consideration, this hotel with it's great location was a good deal.

This was very good. This was me and my boyfriend's first time traveling over seas and we were very nervous we were staying at a hotel far from all London's attractions or it would be full of bugs. This was beautiful and simple. This hotel is for the couple that just wants to sleep shower and get ready. The bed was fantasic and very confortable. The tv was a flat screen mounted on the wall. The shower was clean and came with a hair dryer. The best part for us was the shades. Because we were on a time difference we were up until 6am. This hotel had wooden shutters so we could sleep on our time and take mid day naps. I slept very well in this hotel and kind of woke up sad to be in my own bed this morning. It is across from Hyde Park and a 1 min walk to the tube. It also was next to the swan which has an excellent fish and chips. This is a very good choice for a young couple who is going to Europe to explore. Oh and the room was always clean and our things were never "disturbed".

I got a room right next to the elevator and could not sleep for three nights. Who puts a room right next to an elevator? How do you know if you're going to get that room when you buy the hotel for the night? Horrible. Plus, there were drunken Scottish women every night SCREAMING at the tops of their lungs and pounding on doors at 4am. One night, ok. But by the second night, shouldn't hotel staff have dealt with these anti-social people?

I did a lot of sight seeing while I was there the hotel is in an excellent location. It is directly across from hyde park you can walk through the park to get to "museum row" and there is a tube station less than a block away. The tube station is really the best way to get around it takes you everywhere without being expensive. I've noticed people complaining about the room sizes but mine was just fine. Yes, they're probably not as big as some are used to but nobody goes to London to stay in the hotel room.

This hotel is right on Hyde Park, with bus and underground stops only a block away. It had all the amenities one would expect. The staff was great, the public areas good, the decor OK, but the beds could have been better.

I was on a business trip, the hotel is very close to the underground - which is great, food is expensive, and they charge 5 GBP extra for room service (tray tax). the gym has all aerobic equipment, how ever top of the line. nice specious rooms - I got a free upgrade.

The hotel was great. The room was pleasant, clean, and comfortable. I will come back to this hotel. The tube is literally right around the corner.

Stayed at the Hotel several times. Central location, nice and clean. Nice staff and a good restaurant and bar. Will be back again.

We seem to always stay in the Bayswater area of London. The Corus Hotel is in a perfect location; tube station a block away, Hyde Park across the street and close to shopping on Oxford Street. The Corus has a great full English breakfast. This is our forth time staying at the Corus and we will stay there on our next rip.

The rooms were very small for the amount of money you are paying. The rooms are clean. Sometimes you can hear your neighbor at night and outside noise, but quiet most of the time. The free breakfast is AMAZING!! You may have to wait 1/2 hour on the weekends but it is worth it. The food is fresh and has something for everyone! The staff is friendly and helpful!!
