Strand Palace Hotel London

This was the best trip I've ever taken with my teenage son. The hotel is in the center of the theatre district, and the concierge was very helpful in guiding us to various plays and attractions. We were pleased with the service, friendliness and cleanliness of the hotel. This is not a luxury hotel, but it had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed for 7 nights and could not fault this hotel for the price. All services you could need, quiet room with great facilities. Staff extremely helpful and courteous at all times. Great range of good food available 24 hours. Very convenient to theatre district, Covent Garden, the river etc I will stay again next time I'm in London.

Excellent centrally located London hotel. Clean, well decorated and with excellent service and staff. Highly recommended and beats other much more expensive hotels.

Pretty cheap stay, awesome location with most of "tourist" london in walking distance. Hotel outsourced concierge and baggage check services, so don't take any advice from them and expect to pay.

Good location.

This is a reasonably priced hotel which is centrally-located, with helpful, pleasant staff. A 10-minute walk from most West End theatres, so after a show you won't need to fight for scarce taxis with the other play-goers, nor take a late-night tube ride. Walk to museums, Westminster, Covent Garden and shopping!

Great Hotel. I was able to check in early so I could start touring the city. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Only drawback was the street noise. My room faced Strand and Friday and Saturday was very noisy. The restaurants in the hotel are convenient, but the food is just ok. I would definitely stay there again. Perfect location near Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and bus and tube stops.

The location of this hotel is prime. So if you want to be in the heart of London, and not pay an arm and a leg, this is may be a good choice. The hotel is clean, and the staff is generally helpful and polite. The bed was hard, and the pillows left much to be desired. All this was within acceptable limits for the price. My main complaint comes from the lack of soundproofing. It can be quite bothersome if you have a passionate couple next door, or if you plan on some of the same and prefer not to have everyone know. Also make sure to pack a cat5/network cable with you, or be prepared to pay for wireless access. Considering it's 2010, and that your average roadside motel has free wifi, this was also a bit frustrating.

I travelled alone, and my room was very small, but adequate. The hotel is in and ideal situation if you want to spend time in the West End, theatres, cinemas and restaurants are everywhere within walking distance, or you can take one of the frequent buses that pass just outside the hotel.
