Holiday Inn Express SANTA BARBARA

Honestly besides the location, there was nothing else to be happy about. The first room we got looked a bit bigger than a closet. The room appeared to be for Handicapped people. I asked to see if we could get another room and it wasnt any better. The first floor not worth the money. It was noisey the entire time, the employees would also walk around early in the morning and talk to each other loudly in the hallways. The parking lot was extremely small and I had to park my car against the hotel wall. Ironically that was my view from my hotel room....The side of my own car. It was an absolute disaster. We were trying to have a nice romatic New Years Eve get away, and ended up having an okay time the rest of the trip, except the small room that smelled like "Bengay" & old sick people. The bathroom was entended for handicappped people....Sorry, Just being honest!!!

Nice staff only, the room was too small, Noisy and having drunk people in the hallway in all hours of night was not great. Did not get any sleep prior to flying early in the morning.

The room of the hotel was ok for the night; the bathing room should be better in comfort. The location is very near the city and you can reach most of the necessary restaurants .... with short - minutes walk.

Good location, alright room, what you would generally expect from a Holiday Inn Express.

This hotel has great location, is clean and well kept. Rooms are nice but little small. They also have a decent little breakfast. I deducted a star for noise. The only problem was the noise level of the neighbors. There is a Good Neighbor Policy that was signed by all guests but they obviously did not understand the policy. If we had called the front desk, they would have immediately made the noisy people leave the hotel and make them pay for our stay for the night. I didnt call the front desk because I thought that I would be nice, but think that maybe I should have. Other than that it is a really nice hotel.

Great location. If you are interested in going out in Santa Barbara and wish to walk to all of the hot spots, this is the spot.

Room was small, but very clean. Great location in downtown with a very short walk to the beach and restaurants downtown.

This is a loud old hotel. Charming, but noisy. I've been traveling back and forth to SB for years on business and I will not stay at it during peak times because it is far too expensive for the uncomfortable bed, hit or miss bathroom cleanliness, and the noise between hallways, rooms & parking lots when you are trying to get some sleep before meetings. What you are truly paying for is it's location on State Street and proximity to the beach.

we stayed just one night as part of a touring holiday. we were well received at reception and found the room and facilities were accurately described on the web. a better advice on finding the hotel would have helped - especially when arriving in the evening of the adjacent street market, when roads were closed off.

Hotel is a little on the old side but it is close to and within walking distance from the main drag and the beaches and town pier.
