The six-story Miami Beach hotel has 92 guestrooms. Rooms are decorated in art deco style. Beds have blond oak headboards and all white bedding, with built in shelves and silver bedside lamps. Richmond hotel rooms include armchairs, large mirrors, Plasma TV, faux-1930s clock radio, and deco inspired floor lamps. Closets include red umbrellas, safes, and bathrobes. On the walls are framed, enlarged prints of Miami Beach postcards. The Richmond hotel features an outdoor pool surrounded by a piato with lounge chairs, tables, and a spa tub in the shape of a half-moon. A winding cement path leads past a fountain to a key-coded gate, a small wooden boardwalk, and the beach. The hotel's cafe offers breakfast from morning until mid-afternoon, and in the evenings, guests can sit on the front porch, shaded by tall palm trees, to enjoy a drink.
There is a small, private patio on the fifth floor, which is available for all guests. Two meeting rooms have wooden floors and tables, and a third has been restored to resemble a vintage movie theater, with original art deco sofas and chairs, and a 100-inch screen. The six-story Miami Beach hotel has 92 guests room. The hotel offers amenities Bar, conference facilities, disabled facilities, internet access-high speed, internet access-wireless, lobby, all non-smoking rooms, parking facilities-at cost, restaurant, solarium and swimming pool-outdoor.

In Need of Remodeling
Hotel was average, staff was friendly but there was not even water in the fridge or in the room and room service did not deliver anything. I think there were bed bugs because I got some bites. Hotel definitely needs to be remodeled!!! But close distance to all great places and room was clean.

The Richmond Hotel - Miami, FL
For the price, the Richmond Hotel is one of the best hotels in South Beach to stay at if you simply want a good, clean, safe hotel in a great location without spending a fortune. Rooms are basic, clean and still retain the charm of its past. The location is great as it is within a short walking distance to the strip on A1A/Ocean Drive and for proximity to the beach...it can't be beat! If you're not up for the beach, the pool and hot tub provide an excellent space to relax under beautiful palm trees. Also, if you need anything such as sun screen, snacks, water, etc., there is a Walgreen's just two short blocks away.

Head to the Walgreen's two short blocks away for water, snacks, sunscreen, etc. The Hotel does not have a store inside of it and the food there is priced high for what it is.

exactly what I needed
The Richmond was pretty perfect for what we were looking for. A great price, barefoot walk to the beach, and lovely poolside lounging! The Richmond may have it's tiny quirks, but I wholly recommend it. Totally going back.

The hotel location was perfect. It was walking distance to everything. The staff was friendly and accommidable. The rooms were a decent size, well kept and cute. The pool and jacuzzi were warm and inviting and led straight to the beach. Loved my whole trip! Would definitely stay there again!

Needs a little TLC
The hotel just needs an uplift. The room was clean, however we had to prop our window open with an ironing board, the bath tub did not drain, and the ice machine was broken. There was no counter space to get ready for the evening, and the pool looked a little dirty. The staff was very helpful though when asked for anything and the location was great and close enough to shopping and restaurants.

Good Service, below avg accomodations
They are very nice there, and the lobby is quite fancy, a good 1st impression. Sadly, its sort of downhill from there - the rooms are old hardwood, the bathroom had dated and undersized fixtures. The pool area is quite nice, and there is direct beach access, so if you don't plan on staying in the room too much, it is good value for the beach front. Be prepared to be awoken by the noisy elevator if you're room is close to it.

Dated but nice
PROS: The hotel is in a great location (central to EVERYTHING on South Beach); Oceanfront with a pool and hot tub; Friendly & accommodating staff; Priced exceptionally well for location & amenities; Quiet; Got there early (10 AM) and the room was already ready; Bartender & restaurant staff we're very nice (and made really good drinks) CONS: Some of the facilities (lobby, pool deck, and hotel rooms mostly) can come off as a little dated and in need of refurbishment; the pool's filter system wasn't working properly when we were there, so the deep end sometimes had a weird pollen film on it; the hotel doesn't have it's own chairs for the beach All in all it was exactly what we were looking for--something centrally located with the essential amenities (pool, beach access, close to night life) for a moderate price. Happy to recommend to those looking to stay in the heart of South Beach on a budget.

Take the Miami Airport Flyer (bus route 150) to and from the airport. It's only $2.35/person (as of Oct. 2010) and it took only slightly longer than the $32+ cab ride (it also stops directly across the street from the hotel). The Miami Beach Local Shuttle also loops around Miami Beach for $0.25.
