Hotel 17

can't beat it for the price. i stayed for 2 weeks on business, had a single with a twin and shared a bathroom. the room was small, very small. but after one night i didn't notice. i was busy with work most days and out on the town most nights. if you don't plan on spending much time in your room, for whatever reason, this is a great choice. if, however, room comfort, size and/or amenities are a priority, you might want to upgrade to a double or look elsewhere. in any event, kudos to hotel 17. i'll be back.

Set in a lovely and remarkably quiet neighborhood, this hotel is a great value for the area.

Hotel 17 was a pleasant surprise with a reasonable price for NYC, offering quiet clean rooms with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was accross the hall from our room door and available to us at all times of need. There was a sink in our room. The walk to the subway was short even for an 8 year old child. We would recommend this find to anyone.

We stayed at the Hotel 17 for the first time recently and were extremely satisfied. The location was good - near Union Square and the subway - the rooms clean, and the staff helpful. We didn't even mind sharing the bath. It reminded us of previous trips to Europe.

The hotel was very friendly and answered our questions promptly. The staff was dedicated to us having a good time in NYC and told us about restaurants and attractions in the area, how to get to the subway, how to find a bus stop, etc. I would definetely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a friendly, budget hotel.

We initially chose this hotel because it was within walking distance of Union Square. It is about 4 blocks away. We did like the fact that we had street view and our block was very quiet. The rooms were very clean and even though we had to share a bathroom it was clean. The elevator worked well and the reception area was very helpful. The only down size I would say is that it was a few blocks to the nearest subway.

The Hotel 17 had great charm, the room was clean and I liked the fact it had it's own sink. The sharing of the bathroom wasn't a problem. The staff was helpful and very informative when asking for informaion about transportation, resturants and local attrations. The location was fabulous, walking distance to all areas. We look forward to going back and staying again.

I found Hotel 17 to be a great value for the money and a sweet, charming little hotel. This was unlike any hotel I have stayed at in either Europe or the U.S. The beautiful, warm wood-work and the comfortable bed and pillows more than made-up for that. If you want to know what it feels like to live in a little NYC neighborhood, I would highly recommend Hotel 17.

Hoel is euro-style with shared bathrooms that re kept immaculate. Our room had a small noisy air conditioner that had to be kept on all the time so the room was even close to comfortable. Room was tiny - but what do you expect in NYC.

great place, amazing location. Will be staying here again. Shared baths are kept very clean. 3 blocks from Union Square. Price is affordable.
